Contrast

Flash back a couple of months....I was walking past the yeshiva where my boys go to school. As I was standing on the corner, waiting to cross at the light, the unmistakeable sound of preschoolers singing could be heard through the open windows on the first floor. I don't know if it was coming from either Shmueli or Levi's class, but it was so sweet and adorable I paused for a moment to listen. I stood and gave thanks to Hashem for his many blessings. Here I am, living in a country where little Jewish yingelach can sing in their high squeeky voices at the top of their lungs without fear of being discovered. These holy neshamas under the watchful eyes of their loving morahs filling the world with their glorious light. "Baruch Hashem," I thought, "We are living with Moshiach. Its truly right at our fingertips." I continued on down the street. A Happy moment in time.

Flash forward, I just spent my Shabbos relaxing with this Jewish Press as usual. Only this Shabbos, instead of Israeli politics and parve ice cream recipes, all of the articles were focused on the brutal and evil tragedy that happened last week in Mumbai. One article was worse than the next. Pictures of the little boy who escaped crying for a mother who would never come. Evidence that the act wasn't random. Muslims did indeed target Jews. This tragedy is hard to shake off. It was so purposeless. It accomplished nothing.

Shabbos ended. As I waited for my husband to be ready for Havdalah, I perused the mail. I opened a familiar envelope from my boys' school expecting it to be a letter about the upcoming Chinese auction. Instead, I read a letter from the school's administrator asking me to contribute $100 or more towards increasing security in the school. Gates, cameras, sophisticated doors, new procedures for entering and leaving are all going to be the new reality in the coming weeks. A community which is already financially strapped to the point of breaking will have to come up with the funds.

How did this happen? Two short months ago, I stood on that corner reveling in the purity and light of that building. Now, steel gates and cameras need to be put in to keep out hatred and darkness. There is something sinister hovering nearby, watching and waiting, hating. Hating who? Those holy neshamales with the squeeky voices and the big smiles? Why? Who could hate anything so pure and shining? Its too much. Its all too much. I hate this feeling. I have always felt such joy and pride sending my children off to school. My beautiful daughter with a pure soul that shines right out of her eyes, so proud of her school uniform. My precious sons with their peyos and tzis tzis melt my heart just looking at them. I shouldn't have to be afraid. But I am afraid. I'm terrified actually.

Hashem, come get your children out of this golus. Start with my kids first. Please make them safe.

SCARY VIDEO!

With Halloween just passed everyone posted their real life ghost videos. I have to say this is the most convincing and chilling ghost video I have ever seen. Watch with caution.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo8CP9Hhb58&eurl=http://community.babycenter.com/post/a2164745/ghosts_exist_proof_on_video
You know what I hate....
Corporate f*$!sticks who take billions of dollars of taxpayer money to save their company and then turn around five days later and go on a $450,000 posh corporate retreat. Unbelievable! SO much for government oversight! Because of these bastards I'm worried about how I am going to pay for my kids education and now they spend $450,000 on hotel suites! Freaking Unbelievable! Nothing like starting the day with a healthy dose of disgust in the human race.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/washingtonpostinvestigations/2008/10/after_bailout_aig_execs_took_4.html

Enough!
Alright, I am not usually one to get involved in internet geekery, but there comes a point in every internet user's life where she must speak out against online stupidity. Enough all ready with the freaking Rick-Rolling! I got Rick-Rolled last night for the TENTH time. This wasn't funny six months ago, it wasn't funny three months ago and it sure as sh*t isn't funny now. The next time one of you four eyed, clearisil addicted nosewipers gets the urge to Rick-Roll someone just staple your hands to your f*#!in forehead instead. Stick to sending your "friends" stupid messages in binary encrypted siggies and leave the rest of us alone to nurse our few remaining brain cells.

For those few of you out there who haven't had the misfortune to fall victim to this "hilarity." You see a link which entices you to click on it, like this one:

Click Here 4 Hot Obama Pix!

Yet, once you click on it, the promised Obama pix are nowhere in sight. Instead, you find you have once again beein Rick-Rolled. Don't worry, its not harmful to your computers. It just very, very annoying.

Peace out geeks.
